Salad Bar Returns After Pandemic Pause
After a nearly three year hiatus due to COVID-19, salad bars are making a return to school lunch in Fairfax County. The school system's plan is to bring them back in phases over the next few months, starting with Title One schools.
"We did have the salad bar prior to the pandemic, and there were so many disappointments that went along with the pandemic that we just had to make do with, so we are thrilled and excited to have it back," said Wiatta Padmore, principal of London Towne Elementary in Centreville.
On Wednesday, London Towne was among the first FCPS schools to re-open their salad bars, along with Bucknell Elementary. Check out the many visitors who came to celebrate with us and the story aired by our local ABC station, WJLA, featuring some of our students!
