5th grade students helped Fairfax County Stormwater Planning Division improve an area with poor drainage on our grounds!

First, they learned about plants native to Virginia and how the presence of plants would help with water runoff.

Students helped install the plants in the prepared area.

It was a hot and dry day, so planting was challenging in the hard soil!

We loved getting our hands dirty and helping our school grounds as Global and Ethical Citizens!
