London Towne Turns 50!
London Towne Elementary turns 50 this year! This past week, we celebrated our school's 50th anniversary with a Dress Through the Decades week, leading up to our annual Thanksgiving luncheon and anniversary celebration. Former administrators, staff members, and students were invited to a reception in the library, which included cake, a slide show with photos from 1969 to the present, and performances of our school song by our 2nd graders and "Put a Little Love in your Heart," a song by Jackie DeShannon popular in 1969, by our 5th/6th grade chorus.
50th Anniversary Celebration!
London Towne Elementary School opened in 1969 so we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary this year!
Our 5th and 6th grade Student Council leaders greeted and gave tours to visiting former staff.
Past staff members were excited to greet colleagues who still work here!
Principal Padmore welcomed everyone to the reception in the library.
Music teachers Sra. Collado and Mrs. Hill sang a version of our school song to the tune of "Edelweiss," in the "style of 1979."
Several 2nd grade classes performed our current school song and a version composed by Sra. Collado.
Our 5th/6th grade chorus performed "Put a Little Love in Your Heart," from 1969.
